• The iGPS360 module is a state-of-the-art GPS module that brings GPS capability to the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
• The module is designed as a direct plug-in for your iPhone (first generation 2G, second generation 3G, third generation 3GS and fourth generation 4),the iPod Touch (first generation 1G, second generation 2G, third generation 3G and fourth generation 4G), and the iPad (both WiFi + WiFi+3G). The module will not work on other iPod platforms or Apple devices.
• The module works on all of the above devices running all firmware up to and including firmware iOS 4.3.3. All devices up to and including firmware 4.3.3 can now be jailbroken by redsn0w and PwnageTool
• The module has on-board battery back-up which will store the last acquired GPS satellite information on-board, enabling a fast GPS-lock re-acquisition time after the module has temporarily been switched off. For optimum on-board battery life and performance, it is advised that before first use of the module, you charge your iPhone/iPod Touch through the GPS module with the included USB cable for at least 16 hours. This will ensure that the battery inside of the GPS module is fully charged before first use.Overnight charging of your iPhone/iPod Touch through the GPS module should be done at least once a month in order to maintain last satellite data and user settings.
• The module features a low current (<0.5mA) bi-color LED to indicate its operation status. A continuously-lit blue LED indicates that the module is powered on, has found a satellite lock and is fully operational. The LED will flash purple when the module is in the process of searching for a GPS lock.
• For the iPhone and iPod Touch, the module ships with a light-weight and flexible 6ft micro-USB cable (USB-A to micro USB-B) which will allow you to charge and sync your iPhone/iPod Touch while the GPS module is plugged in (either at home or on the road).
• For the iPad, the module ships with a special 3ft micro-USB cable (USB-A to micro USB-B) which will allow you to charge and sync your iPad while the GPS module is plugged in (either at home or on the road). The regular light-weight and flexible 6ft cable that is used for the iPhone and iPod Touch (see above) will not work with the iPad. If you are in need of a longer 6ft cable for the iPad, it can be purchased separately (please see the Cable section of the online store).
A smart keychain is currently in development that will extend the functionality of the iGPS360 module in such a way that the module can also be used on any laptop or desktop computer that has a USB port. The keychain will also allow for easy and safe storage of the iGPS360 module on your keychain when not in use. The keychain will be sold separately.

What is required to operate the module?

• You will need either a jailbroken iPhone, a jailbroken iPod Touch or a jailbroken iPad.
  Note: the new iPad and iPod Touch 4G can now also be jailbroken and as such the module does also work with those devices.
• Your device can be running any firmware up to and including iOS 4.3.3.
  Before changing firmwares, please first check if your preferred software is available for the firmware you wish to upgrade to and more importantly, make sure your firmware can be jailbroken.
• You will need to install a GPS application on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad that can access the iGPS360 module. Orange Gadgets ships only the hardware module.
  • The best free software that currently works with the module is the xGPS software developed by Xwaves which is available for download here (please also see Software development below). For more information, please read the appropriate section in our FAQ.
  • Some of the recommended AppStore applications that have been tested are Navigon, TomTom, Magellan, Sygic, Navionics, MotionX GPS, RunKeeper and many more.
• A lot of other Apple's AppStore applications (actually most of them) will also work with the iGPS360 module, including the major navigation applications.
  In order to use AppStore applications, an additional piece of software called GPSSerial (the latest version is available from here) will need to be installed on your iPhone/iPod/iPad. For more information, please read the appropriate section in our FAQ.
  Note: The GPSSerial software has past its beta stages and allows for multi-tasking now. But as any software it is most likely not completely (but almost) bug-free and it enables most of the AppStore GPS applications. Please consult the Xwaves forum here in case you have questions or email us directly.

• Orange Gadgets and Xwaves have formed a partnership for distributing and developing software and hardware for a GPS solution for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
  • Orange Gadgets focusses on hardware development and volume production of the iGPS360 module and is developing software utilities specific to the GPS functionality of the iGPS360 module.
  • Xwaves focusses on development of the xGPS navigation software and has implemented full support for the iGPS360 module.
  With our combined efforts we hope to bring you the best GPS application and utilities for your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
